Kart champ out to get revenge for 2016 loss

-

KARTING megastar Davide Fore will be on the hunt for redemption when he returns to the Gold Coast next month.

The five-time world champion twice won the Race of Stars at Pimpama before missing out on the top prize in 2016.

Paolo De Conto instead took the honours, emerging victorious from an incredible battle with Dutch driver Marijn Kremers and Fore, who came home third.

All three will again go wheel-to-wheel this year, from October 13-15, while Supercars speedster Nick Percat will also join the classy field.

Fore is desperate to turn the tables on his fellow Italian De Conto after the latter this month sealed his second consecutive karting world championship.

“The Race of Stars has become a highlight for me,” an excited Fore said.

“To race against some of the best drivers in Australia and the world on a circuit like the Xtreme Karting complex is really exciting.

“Turn One is unlike most corners in world karting and takes huge commitment, along with being flat out for nearly 75 per cent of the lap.

“Last year didn’t go our way but I will tell you now that I will be pushing to win again. Paolo got the best of us at the World Championships and I am looking to reverse that in Australia.”

Fore will compete alongside 15-year-old Australian up-andcomer Tomas Gasperak, a rising star on the kart scene.
