THIS SOUNDS LIKE A BRILLIANT BACKDROP

A STUDIO which will host headline actors and blockbuster film productions will be temporarily transformed for sports stars, officials and spectators during the Games.

The newly constructed Sound Stage 9 at Village Roadshow Studios will be the host venue for the squash competition.

The Queensland Government invested $11.1 million in the construction of the $15.5 million sound stage in partnership with Village Roadshow.

The super-stage, the first of its kind in Australia, will help attract big-budget blockbusters and be a great Games legacy for Queensland’s screen industry.

During the Commonwealth Games, the studios will also host boxing, table tennis and be used as a badminton training venue.
