WEDDING IN THE TEAM

WEDDING bells will chime this Saturday at GOLDOC with bid company sports analyst Ashleigh Turner and the corporation’s IT guru Pete Edwards set to marry.

Fresh out of Griffith University, Ashleigh’s role in 2011 was to review previous Games data to calculate the number of athletes competing, which sports were contested, how many medals were on offer and how many people attended particular events. Her early work contributed to a comprehensive bid book and saw her, along with another seven members of the bid team, rewarded with permanent GOLDOC roles.
