Caves cost drivers deer
DESIGN-conscious blokes desperate to decorate their man caves are being blamed for a rise in car crashes.
Up to one million deer live in Victoria’s east and highland areas, and warning signs about the animals often go missing within weeks of being put up.
“When VicRoads puts up deer signs, we’ve got people knocking them off,” Gippsland East MP Tim Bull said. “They’re very popular in man caves.”
He said panel beaters were dealing with more car writeoffs and deer damage as drivers were caught unaware by the large animals.
