FILM and superhero comic fans are expected to flock to the Gold Coast to see Chris Hemsworth walk the red carpet for Thor: Ragnarok’s Australian premiere.

The Hollywood star will join director Taika Waititi, executive producer Brad Winderbaum, local cast, crew, celebrities and dignitaries at Event Cinema Robina for the October 13 premiere.

The premiere will see the film screen for more than 3000 invited guests across all of the site’s theatres.

A cast of thousands is also expected to congregate outside the complex for the chance to see Hemsworth

and wisecracking Marvel in the making Waititi in person at the Marvel and Screen Queensland-hosted affair.

Fans will be able to watch VIPs and celebs hit the red carpet from 5.30pm before the film rolls at 6.30pm.

Production insiders say Ragnarok – or end of the universe in Norse mythology – delivers two hours and 10 minutes of edge-of-the-seat action that make it the best Thor adventure yet.

The first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie shot in the southern hemisphere, the production spent 84 days filming on the Coast from July to October last year.

Hemsworth had to get permission to wrap work filming the fourth instalment of The Avengers in Atlanta, Georgia, to return to the Coast in time for the Thor: Ragnarok premiere.

He’ll join co-star Mark Ruffalo, aka The Hulk, on the red carpet again two days later in Sydney for another VIP screening on October 15.

Thor: Ragnarok opens in Australia on October 26.
