Jedinak not fit for playoff

SOCCEROOS captain Mile Jedinak has failed in his attempt to get up for the World Cup playoffs.

Jedinak’s groin issues have persisted and he will miss the game against Syria in Malaysia next Thursday.

Injured Norway-based Alex Gersbach was left out, with Dutch-based Craig Goodwin and Turkey-based Aziz Behich earning a recall.

Israel-based striker Nikita Rukavytsya is the selection bolter, replacing Jamie Maclaren, while Matt Jurman earns a maiden call-up.
