Caught in cry of Storm
STORM players broke down in tears just 24 hours before kick-off at an empty ANZ Stadium with even skipper Cameron Smith unable to keep his emotions in check.
The players were involved in a highly emotive jersey presentation inside a room at ANZ Stadium on Friday.
But unlike most teams who use high-profile guests to present the jerseys, coach Craig Bellamy told his players they would present the grand final jersey to a mate.
“It was emotional,” said Smith, who presented a jumper to Cooper Cronk.
“There wasn’t really a dry eye in the house and that was including the coaches.”
