BLUE BEAUTY! CENTRE FOR HOCKEY A SMASH
AUSTRALIA will be hoping its Commonwealth Games gold medal success will continue at the upgraded Gold Coast Hockey Centre.
The Queensland and Australian Governments, along with the City of Gold Coast, invested $16.5 million to ensure the Gold Coast has a world-class facility to host the hockey.
Features of the upgraded centre include a re-alignment of two synthetic hockey pitches and a major refurbishment of a shared clubhouse facility. Local junior, senior and open competitions kicked off at the Gold Coast Hockey Centre this year including the 2017 Queensland Festival of Hockey. Post-Games, the centre will be the home of the Gold Coast Hockey Association and the Labrador Hockey Club.
