The death certificate for Hugh Hefner has been released, revealing how the Playboy founder died. Hefner, 91, died of cardiac arrest and respiratory failure, but had also been battling E. coli and septicaemia (blood poisoning) for six days prior to his death in late September.

A former Gold Coast woman who was reportedly the girlfriend of mass-murderer Stephen Paddock is a potential key to unlocking why he staged a sniper attack on a concert crowd from a Las Vegas casino. Australian citizen Marilou Danley, 62, was in Japan when Paddock filled his 32nd-floor suite of the Mandalay Bay casino with 19 guns, including assault rifles with scopes, and fired on the crowd below, killing at least 59 and injuring more than 500.
Titans refute claims about Roberts
Gold Coast officials have rejected claims NRL playmaker Tyrone Roberts is headed for the English Super League. Roberts, 26, who is off-contract, has long been linked with a move to Warrington and rumours have this week intensified with English media declaring he has signed up to be a marquee Wolves player in 2018. Reports indicated his manager Warrick Wright had been in England for talks about Roberts.

Cheaper housing could be on the cards as the Gold Coast City Council plans to slash property sizes. The GCCC is preparing to update its City Plan, with changes to allow for higher density developments in some areas while blocking it elsewhere. The changes, including rezoning properties as mediumdensity, will affect up to 5000 homes, with suburbs such as Ashmore and Mermaid Beach likely to be affected.
