RADIO GREATS REKINDLE MAGIC

THE final 4GG reunion was held at Kampung Malay in Mudgeeraba on Sunday and we asked stalwart of the station Ian Cousins how it went.

“It was magical,” he replied. “A lot of laughs, some tears and memories galore. It was such a unique radio station because it was pure show business with lots of international stars who visited us plus the interaction we had with the city.

“Most of the originals who could get there made the effort with people like Maurie Service, Tony Schmidt, Mike Higgins, John Jones and Russ Walkington all telling great stories.

“This will be the last reunion which is sad – the station was such a big part of all our lives.”
