McDonald up for bids

THE owner of a prime tenanted building in Burleigh Heads has decided to cut ties after more than 40 years in the same hands.

McDonald House, on the corner of Park Ave and Connor St in the popular James St precinct, is owned by McDonald House Pty Ltd, linked to Jan McDonald.

The four-level building hosts 20 tenants across a net lettable area of 1817sq m.

Tenants include Ze ‘Pickle, Connors Cafe, Burleigh Heads Language College, Ecosure and Optus.

Colliers International’s Darrell Irwin, who is marketing the property with colleague James Crawford, said the offering is located on the largest freehold corner site within the James St area.

“Down the track it offers excellent redevelopment potential, particularly if densities are increased as a result of stage three of the light rail extending to Burleigh Heads,” Mr Irwin said. “And in the short-tomedium term, we expect buyers will see genuine potential in rental growth from existing tenants.”

Mr Crawford said the property offered a diverse tenant mix, with seven ground-floor retail shops and 13 commercial tenancies. The property offers basement carparking.

An auction will be held on October 28 at 10am at the Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park Surf Life Saving Club.
