Funding for innovators goes to local projects
TWO Gold Coast-based projects will receive Queensland Government funds totalling $40,000 as part of the latest allocations from its $6 million International Education and Training Partnership Fund aimed at attracting more international students to the state.
Treasurer and Minister for Trade and Investment Curtis Pitt said the funding round would see 16 projects across the state receive $465,584 in government funds to be matched by organisations involved.
“Projects in regional Queensland dominate the third round of funds, including the two projects on the Gold Coast,” he said.
In the funding, Study Gold Coast, headed by Shannon Willoughby (pictured) will receive:
$20,000 for a developing a marketing toolkit for services and facilities relevant to international students or prospective students and agents, and
$20,000 for assessing the success rates and factors influencing the retention of international students. The results will help international education providers better target and retain students.
