Dockers make a move for Hogan

-

STAR Melbourne forward Jesse Hogan met Fremantle captain Nat Fyfe this week, as the Dockers attempt to piece together a daring raid for the contracted spearhead.

Fyfe and Hogan, who is contracted to the Demons for another two seasons, met in Mosman Park, a western suburb of Perth, on Tuesday night ahead of what shapes as a frenzied AFL trade period.

The pair share the same management company.

Hogan is understood to be happy at the Demons and has not given the Dockers any indication that he wants to return to his home state of Western Australia. But Fremantle has made its interest in the hulking forward clear.

The Dockers also pursued Hogan last year, before he resigned with Melbourne until the end of 2019. He would be a massive difference-maker in the Freo forward line.

The Dockers would have to conjure a bumper deal to have any chance of luring Hogan, potentially involving their prized No.5 pick and a player.

Hogan’s manager Jason Dover said yesterday he expected the 22-year-old to remain at Melbourne.
