Union’s still unholy one
QUITE simply, the lack of change in Australian rugby.
Think back 12 months. The problems? Not enough talent, too far behind the All Blacks, a poor scrum, players defecting overseas. Sound familiar? The Wallabies’ gritty win over Argentina should be applauded, but not too much given it secured second in the Rugby Championship.
You’re not going to fix everything in one year but some issues border on endemic, a concern given rugby has fallen further behind rival codes in our national consciousness.
Let’s applaud our successes but not forget just how far Australian rugby still needs to go.
