Hobbit star’s secret role in Aquaman

SCOTTISH actor Graham McTavish, best known for his work on The Hobbit trilogy, has revealed he has a secret role in Aquaman.

The actor shared the news on Twitter as director James Wan and his stars, Jason Momoa (Aquaman) and Amber Heard (Mera), prepare to wrap the film’s six-month shoot on the Gold Coast.

“Delighted to be able to announce my involvemen­t in Aquaman. Character has to be secret …. for now. It’s going to be awesome!” McTavish teased.

A renowned voice actor, McTavish appeared as Dwalin in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit

and has worked on a string of video games.

The actor will join Marvel’s

Iron Fist star Finn Jones, who also plays Loras Tyrell in Game of Thrones, on the bill at the upcoming Supanova pop culture expo at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre from November 10 to 12.

It is not known if McTavish’s Aquaman character will be CGI or if the actor travelled to the Coast to film his scenes.

Filming on Aquaman is due to finish on October 20, with cast members including Heard joining crew to celebrate the end of the project at an official wrap party at Fisherman’s Wharf Tavern on the weekend.

Aquaman is due for release on December 21, 2018.
