THE Subaru WRX is being recalled in Australia because the subwoofer speaker fitted in the boot might spark a fire.

While loud sound systems are a common accessory fitted by WRX owners, the recall affects subwoofers installed by Subaru.

The recall of more than 4000 WRX sedans (2015 models) was triggered after a car caught fire in Tasmania.
