SHOULD THERE BE TOUGHER SECURITY IN GOLD COAST MENTAL HEALTH WARDS? Garrett Cooley, Southport: There should be more security in mental health wards on the Gold Coast not only for the safety of the patients but for the staff too. But it is all about money. Jesse Green, Southport: There should be different levels depending on the severity of the mental health issues. The hospitals need to provide security according to their risk of escaping. Bec Whitehead, Southport:

There should definitely be tougher security for the safety of the patients, staff and the general public. Rosie Spooner, Kingscliff: If the patients are not adequately monitored they are therefore not adequately cared for. It is in the best interest of (everybody) that security is a priority.
