WITH countless restaurant options popping up on the Gold Coast at a rapid pace, it’s up to the veterans to keep up with that pack, or be left behind.

Fellini Ristorante e Bar at Marina Mirage has no intention of being forgotten, banding together with neighbours Glass Dining and Lounge Bar, Pier Marina Mirage and N3 Tapas Bar to put on the ultimate Progressive Spring Luncheon.

Fellini head chef Richard Burt says being award-winning and well-established for 21 Fellini head chef Richard Burt with dishes he will showcase.

years, they welcome the Coast’s new dining additions.

“The more eating precincts you have around you are good for business,” he says.

“It draws a crowd, draws people in. There’s a buzz. Food makes people happy – most of

the time anyway – and to have more restaurants and ideas come in is really good for the place.”

The progressive luncheon, taking place Friday, October 27, will see each restaurant take on a specific course for diners.

“We’ve been given the main course on the day – it’s a closely guarded secret,” Richard jokes.

“We’ll have a couple of different options to cater for people’s tastes and any intolerances they might have.

“We’re working with the other restaurants to make sure we don’t double up on anything, but at present one item will probably be off the existing menu and the other will be something new.

“I would say Fellini’s food is Gold Coast style light, vibrant food you’d find served throughout Italy.”

As Richard mentions, the participating restaurants will work together for the common cause of showcasing exactly what the Marina has to offer but also, how different each venue is for returning diners.

“The people that attend the luncheon will see what Marina Mirage can do and what we have to offer,” he says. “What we do is different to what Glass does – we’re different to them, they’re different to us.

“It’s all about promoting what the centre has got to offer and the lifestyle on the GC.

“It’s spring, it’s vibrant, it’s a happy time and we’ll all get together and have a great afternoon.”

A part of the Colour My Spring program, the Spring Progressive Luncheon will also include question and answer sessions with each chef, hosted by Natalie Gruzlewski.

Marina Mirage’s Spring Progressive Luncheon, Friday October 27 from 11.30am. Tickets are $95pp.
