Thorburn staying in jail

TIAHLEIGH Palmer’s foster brother will remain behind bars until January after failing to convince the Court of Appeal his life in solitary confinement was too hard.

Trent Thorburn, 20, was sentenced to four years prison last month – with a parole release date of January – after pleading guilty to sexually abusing his 12-year-old foster sister and covering up her murder.

He was sentenced for two counts of perjury, incest and attempting to pervert the court of justice, with his parole release date meaning he would serve 16 months behind bars.
