No review for Milat
ONE of Australia’s most notorious killers has had his seventh application for a review into his convictions dismissed.
Ivan Milat, 72, murdered seven backpackers whose bodies were found in makeshift graves in NSW’s Belanglo State Forest in the 1990s.
The former road worker also kidnapped British tourist Paul Onions and, in 1996, was sentenced to seven consecutive life sentences.
NSW Supreme Court justice Megan Latham has dismissed his latest application, saying the matters raised were dealt with in previous applications. Milat tried to argue he wasn’t given a fair trial.
