Godolphin army’s impending charge
THE Royal Blue Army are set to flex their muscles across Australia this weekend with Godolphin to saddle up a host of stars in Sydney and Melbourne.
Hartnell (Caulfield Stakes), Alizee (Thousand Guineas) and Kementari and Sanctioned (Caulfield Guineas) lead the charge in Melbourne, while closer to home at Randwick last-start Stradbroke winner Impending will make his return in the $500,000 Sydney Stakes (1200m).
Cummings said Impending had continued to progress since his Queensland trip.
“He looks to have muscled up really well since his break and he needs to take a step up to weight-for-age now having won a Group 1 Handicap on the limit,” he said.
“But he mixed it with horses like Clearly Innocent and In Her Time in that campaign, so he looks like he’s going to really enjoy being back at Randwick on a dry track.”
