Arrests in traffic blitz

POLICE have conducted 594 roadside breath tests and 12 drug tests as part of a recent traffic operation targeting unsafe driving.

Robina, Palm Beach, Mudgeeraba and Coolangatta police teamed up with the Road Policing Unit and RAP to issue a large number of fines for speeding and drink and drug driving. Police also arrested a number of people and immobilised cars.

Officer in Charge Acting Senior Sergeant Mick Sweeney of Robina Police said it was a great result for cooperative policing. More operations are expected.
