JESSE’S THE LEADER OF TAP PACK

- SUZANNE SIMONOT suzanne.simonot@news.com.au

GOLD Coast dancer Jesse Rasmussen is flying high thanks to the acclaimed show he co-created and stars in – The Tap Pack.

The high-energy comedy meets song and dance show picks up where The Rat Pack left off, with Rasmussen joined by fellow dancers and singers Thomas J Egan (The Boy from Oz, Tap Dogs, Fame), Jordan Pollard (The Addams Family, Anything Goes, Singin’ in the Rain) and fellow Gold Coaster Sean Mulligan (fresh from starring in Jersey Boys on London’s West End).

Rasmussen, who runs two hip hop dance companies, JTOWN and FlowCity – The Australian Dance Convention, created The Tap Pack with Egan, Pollard and the show’s director, Nigel Turner Carroll.

A former Helensvale High student who found fame in 2009 on So You Think You Can Dance, Rasmussen’s credits include Hot Shoe Shuffle, Tap Dogs (here and on the West End), Oh What A Night, Grease and Candy Man and films including Happy Feet and Happy Feet 2 and Peter Jackson’s King Kong.

The Tap Pack plays The Arts Centre Gold Coast on November 11.
