Anger over loss of guns

-

SUPPORTERS of a farmer who used an unloaded gun to protect his family have raised more than $20,000 to fight for the return of his gun licence.

David Dunstan armed himself last month against a knifewielding thug at his property near the NSW-Victoria border.

But he was shocked when police returned later in the day to confiscate his firearms for improper use.

No charges have been laid but his licence has not been returned and Mr Dunstan’s wife has been ordered not to keep firearms on the property.

Firearms groups and supporters have got behind the cause, with a GoFundMe page raising $20,120 to fund a legal battle to have his weapons returned.
