-

QUEENSLAND men in their middle years or older are the most likely people in Australia to be diagnosed with skin cancer, research has found.

A landmark study from QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, to be released today, has shown men aged 55 or over from the Sunshine State are at the highest risk of non-melanoma skin cancer.

The study of more than 1.7 million Australians also found a whopping 7 per cent of those aged over 20 had a skin cancer cut out between 2011 and 2014, of which nearly 3 per cent had more than one cancer removed.
