Bolt fells rail crew
ELEVEN members of a railway maintenance crew had to be taken to hospital after lightning struck train tracks they were working on near Leonora, about 200km north of Kalgoorlie.
The incident happened about 8am on Saturday when a severe thunderstorm hit the region as a team of about 25 workers were carrying out routine repairs on the Kalgoorlie to Leonora freight line.
A spokeswoman for the WA Country Health Service said two of the men remained in the hospital last night.
