Fergie power lifts Redbacks

CALLUM Ferguson produced the one-day innings of his life and then hailed the character of his team after South Australia yesterday upset Western Australia by five runs to book a JLT One-Day Cup finals spot.

Captain Ferguson smashed his highest limited-overs score of 169 off 137 balls as the Redbacks (7-330) held off a fast-finishing Western Australia (6-325) despite the efforts of Michael Klinger (143) and Mitch Marsh (124).

Redback Dan Worrall (knee) may miss Thursday’s elimination final.
