Record sale for Main Beach tower

-

AN expatriate family living in London has paid a record $2.1 million for a sub-penthouse in Main Beach’s Contessa apartment tower. The apartment is on level 31 of the 27-year-old tower and spans 304sq m.

Robert Graham, of Ray White Prestige Surfers Paradise, said the buyers intended to rent the apartment until they returned to Australia.

Mr Graham said the previous record for a sub-penthouse in the 38-level Contessa was $1.98 million. The seller of the sub-penthouse was Nicole Vitnell, wife of Nelson Bay solicitor and developer David Vitnell, who bought it for $1.8 million in 2009.

The Contessa was built by Melbourne developer the late Gabriel Rose in 1990.
