A Tweed Shire restaurant has been named a finalist in the prestigious NSW Tourism Awards.

Potager, a kitchen garden set on a 10 acre site in Carool, has made the cut as one of the top venues in the Tourism, Restaurants and Catering category.

Co-owner Peter Burr (pictured) said he was thrilled with the nomination given they had only been open for 18 months.

“We’ve worked very hard to deliver a superior new dining experience for the Tweed and to be included in the company of some long-standing and highly awarded dining establishments for this award is fantastic recognition for us,” Mr Burr said.

The nomination follows their recent win in July in the Excellence in Dining section of the Tweed Shire Business Excellence Awards.

Award winners will be announced at a ceremony in Sydney on Thursday, November 16.
