Snowdens turn focus to Charmer

-

STILL on cloud nine after their Everest triumph with Redzel, Peter and Paul Snowden will turn their attention to Canterbury today where the stable is upbeat of claiming another winner or two.

Paul Snowden conceded he was still a “little bit” on cloud nine yesterday after Redzel claimed the $10 million Everest at Randwick on Saturday but it’s back to reality today and trying to boot home a few winners at Canterbury.

Poetic Charmer opens the Snowden charge in Race 1 and Paul Snowden is upbeat the three-year-old colt can go one better after finishing second to French Tune at Rosehill.

“You would like to think he could win that,” he said.

“He has his foot in the door and it looks a nice race for him.

“If French Tune was in this race he would be well in the red and he just needs to put one on the board and get a win under his belt.”

Poetic Charmer had form around Viridine and Beau Geste in his first campaign, adding to his credentials in today’s 3YO Maiden Plate.

“They are horses that have gone on and he has always been a horse that has had some ability and he has run into some handy ones along the way,” Snowden said.

“You would like to think he can put them away (today).”
