Into Dog house and loving it
KEEBRA Park’s strong rugby league legacy is set for a new chapter, with Southport junior Brock Hamill to link with NRL club Canterbury.
The flame-haired 18-yearold lock, who formed part of Keebra’s successful state title path this season, will join the club’s under-20 roster for the 2018 and 2019 seasons with an option for a third year.
A talented soccer junior who switched to rugby league at 12, Hamill this season played Mal Meninga Cup with Burleigh Heads as well as making his Gold Coast Rugby League first grade debut for Southport Tigers aged 17.
Known as a workhorse by officials at Southport, Hamill is the first Keebra player to head to the Bulldogs since the famous school switched allegiances from the Wests Tigers.
Hamill will move down to the accommodation provided by the club in the coming weeks ahead of November’s official start of pre-season.
