FORMER Bathurst winner and championship runner-up Will Davison is “not entirely relaxed” about his future as he battles to secure a place on the 2018 grid.

Davison could be an unlucky loser in the Supercars silly season with circumstances seemingly set to force him out of his current seat at Tekno Autosports.

It is understood budget issues could see the single-car Yatala team have to opt for a ‘pay driver’ – one who can bring sponsorship revenue with them – in place of their off-contract incumbent.

Davison has been linked to a return to Erebus Motorsport or a switch in status to be a codriver for rounds only.

“Not entirely relaxed but relatively confident,” the 19time race winner said of his future in the Supercars series.

“Obviously you would like it done by this time of the year.

“I’m pretty eager to get it done but I’m not stressed.”

Davison will share his No.19 Holden with team boss Jonathon the endurance Webb for the Gold Coast 600 this weekend.

Davison’s 12-year full-time Supercars career has been spread across five teams: Dick Johnson Racing, Walkinshaw Racing, Prodrive Racing Australia, Erebus Motorsport and now Tekno.
