BORIS HAS SPRING IN HIS STEP

-

BORIS the quokka has every reason in the world to smile – he’s on the path to becoming a father.

The happy little marsupial has teamed up with his female partner Spring at the Currumbim Wildlife Sanctuary to start the centre’s first quokka breeding program. The two macropods have been placed in an enclosure together to get on with the job.

Known as the “happiest animals in the world”, you literally can’t wipe the smile from Boris’s face. But as wildlife manager Sarah Eccleston explains, that’s just the way the herbivorous creature’s face is made.

“Boris is pretty laid back,” Ms Eccleston said. “Hopefully he’s not too laid back because we want to get the breeding program going.”
