Wet track in forecast

-

THE chance for on-track chaos at the GC600 will be increased tomorrow with at least 20mm of rain forecast to fall trackside.

The racing weekend has a history of downpours, but this year strong winds will also lash the coastline.

Weatherzone meteorologist Graeme Brittain said it would be cooler than usual for this time of year.

“We will see about 20mm of rain around the Main Beach area and possibly 30-40mm in localised inland areas,” he said.

“There will be strong winds at the seaway, gusting at about 50-60km/h and it will be quite chilly, with tops of 21C.”
