ICE QUEEN REIGNS FOR COOL KIDS

- AMANDA ROBBEMOND

HIT children’s movie Frozen is almost four years old, but Sarah-Jane McNeil still gets asked to dress up as a snow queen every week.

The Varsity Lakes resident runs Fig Tree Fairy Parties and says the enduring popularity of the 2013 Disney film has meant young girls are always asking after cool character Elsa.

“There’s something about the storyline and the music I think,” she said of its popularity.

“Every week I dress up as the snow queen... it’s definitely the most popular character.”

Ms McNeil said demand for the character easily outstripped that for her ‘beauty’, ‘glass-slipper’ and ‘mermaid’ princess costumes.

And even when she wasn’t wearing the costume at parties, she was still asked to sing songs from Frozen.

“The snow queen is my favourite because kids just love you, they come up for hugs,” she said.

“It’s beautiful to see the reaction on children’s faces.”
