DO YOU THINK COUNCIL SHOULD GIVE JOBS TO PERMANENT, LOCAL STAFF INSTEAD OF OUTSOURCING LABOUR?

- CHEVRON ISLAND, 2PM, 19/10/17

Thomas Loader, Clear Island Waters:

Gold Coast Council should support local people unless there is a valid reason why they have to outsource work.

Judy Stanaway, New Zealand:

Council should support the local community always and not outsource work.

Brian Wilmshurst, New Zealand:

They are doing the same at home. Council’s still got to be competitive but they need to support the local community.

Barbara Gaygan, Runaway Bay:

The community pays their wages, so they should support the locals. For every job, six others depend on it.

Ken Herdman, Benowa:

Council should definitely support locals. It is so hard for people to get work. I understand council would be looking at the money they could save.

Cherylynn Herdman, Benowa:

It is sad council would consider doing this. I think we need to look after our own. Charity begins at home.
