Probe into terror plot

A FRENCH judge has placed eight suspected right-wing extremists under formal investigation on charges of terrorist conspiracy, the Paris prosecutor’s office said.

The eight are suspected of conspiring to commit attacks on targets that could have included places of worship, politicians, or members of ethnic minorities, according to a source with knowledge of the case.

Seven of them have been remanded in detention and one 17-year-old was released under judicial supervision, according to the prosecutor’s office.
