BRUCE LYNTON TURNS KEY ON NEW $9M SHOWROOM
ONE of the Gold Coast’s longest-running family owned prestige car dealerships has unveiled its new $9 million Southport showroom.
Bruce Lynton Automotive Group’s new dedicated Jaguar and Land Rover site on Minnie Street marks one of the company’s biggest capital investments since it started in 1974.
The showroom launches with a glitzy invite-only function tomorrow but the Bulletin has been given a prior tour of the swanky Minnie Street location.
One of the two-level building’s more unique features is a commercial kitchen with a chef, for both staff and customers.
Group principal Beric Lynton, son of founder Bruce Lynton, said the kitchen was a customer service perk, similar to a cafe they operated at their former Southport BMW site.
“It creates that fresh aroma of food and coffee – it’s good for staff and customers,” Mr Lynton said.
The group’s head office has also relocated to the new showroom which contains the Jaguar Land Rover sales, service and parts departments.
“It’s a big investment, don’t get me wrong but the brands are growing, there are a lot of positives.”
The launch comes after Bruce Lynton Automotive Group last year cut ties with Mini and BMW, selling its Southport site after a 42year BMW association.
Mr Lynton admitted the “emotional” sale of its BMW dealership was forced after BMW wanted to hasten a 10-year plan and he said it would have required a $16-25 million investment.
The group, which employs 99 staff, has had a 20year plus association with Land Rover and with Jaguar for the past two years.
