A fine day in Hawaii
AUSSIES travelling to Hawaii be warned – crossing the street while looking at your smartphone now attracts a $35 fine in Honolulu.
It is the first big US city to crack down on “phone zombies” as a menace to public health. The new ordnance stipulates “no pedestrian shall cross a street or highway while viewing a mobile electronic device”. They are still allowed to talk on their phones while crossing, as long as they are looking at their surroundings.
