Kiwi PM sworn in
JACINDA Ardern is officially the Prime Minister of New Zealand.
Governor-General Dame Patsy Reddy signed the warrant appointing Ms Ardern as PM in a swearing-in ceremony at Government House yesterday morning.
Under her leadership, New Zealand is set to tighten immigration and curb foreign property ownership.
In her first major speech in her new role, Ms Ardern said on Wednesday her government would “introduce a law to ban overseas speculators from buying existing homes, and we’ll do it by Christmas.”
