STUNNING SIGHT AS BALLOONS LAND BY THE WATER

- KATE PARASKEVOS

TWO hot air balloons took advantage of the idyllic Gold Coast weather to land at the Broadwater at Labrador as the Coast continues to swelter through yet another scorching hot day.

The unique sight delighted onlookers when at 5:20am on Saturday the two balloons gently landed on the sand while morning runners and dog walkers watched on, enjoying the early morning weather.

Early risers at the Broadwater were treated to the spectacular view of the hotair-balloon as they hovered over homes before settling on the sand.

Now that signature Gold Coast sunshine is set to continue again today with tops expected to hit around 35 degrees inland and 31 degrees in coastal suburbs.

Hitting the beaches, swimming pools and even just staying inside in the airconditioning will be high the agenda as locals battle to beat the heat.

Humidity is also high with mostly clear conditions and a chance of an afternoon thunderstorm.

The clear skies to start the working week will have people wishing they could ditch work and hit the beaches with 12 straight hours of clear blue skies predicted from 6am to 6pm.

People should take advantage of the beautiful weather during the day as there is a slight chance of rain and thunderstorms in the evening which could bring moderate rain and winds.

Locals can look forward to fine weather for the rest of the week with mostly sunny conditions each day up to Friday and a possible shower on Saturday with a predicted 1-5mm of rain expected.
