Car stuck on tram line

A CAR stuck on tram tracks at Main Beach halted the tram lines between Southport and Surfers Paradise for hours last night.

The car became stuck on the tram tracks just after 6.30pm, grinding trams between Southport station and Surfers Paradise North station to a halt in both directions.

The car was removed by a tow truck from the Gold Coast Highway and Waterways Drive location.

Earlier in the afternoon, firefighters extinguised a fire at a business in Southport.
