Paraglider out on a limb

-

STATE emergency service volunteers helped to rescue a paraglider who stranded himself 8m up a tree in the Gold Coast Hinterland on Saturday morning.

SES Scenic Rim local controller Jeff McConnell said they had to use a ladder to reach him and rigged up a pulley system.

“It took us about an hour and a half, pretty simple,” he said, adding there were eight vertical rescue members and two Canungra police officers helping out.

The man was not injured.
