Skateboard rider dies

A PIMPAMA man passed away on Saturday after suffering serious head injuries in a skateboarding accident last month.

The 40-year-old man died when he failed to recover from the injuries he suffered more than a month ago.

The man was hospitalised after he hit his head when he fell off his skateboard in Aspect St, Coomera, about 10pm on September 22.

He was found by a relative, police said.

At the time, he was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital with serious head injuries.

Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit are investigating but there is no suggestion any other vehicles were involved.
