TWEED-BASED fund manager Goldsky Asset Management has been named among the top hedge funds in the Asia Pacific region at the 2017 AsiaHedge Awards held in Hong Kong.

The Goldsky Global Alpha Fund beat eight other finalists to secure the Global Equity category at the awards held at the Island Shangri-La hotel on October 26.

The Kingscliff company was one of 17 winners acknowledged for its fund’s performance over the 12 months to the end of August 2017.

Goldsky, founded and headed by Ken Grace, topped the Global Equity category for funds under $200 million and was recognised for successfully managing volatility while delivering returns for investors.

Mr Grace (pictured), with wife Janey, launched homelessness charity Sleep Safe Sleep Sweet with boxer Jeff Horn, world champion surfer Joel Parkinson and Olympic cyclists Robbie McEwen and Stuart O’Grady earlier this year.

The Graces, whose hedge fund is more than $100 million and growing, started planning the charity five years ago.
