Pair injured in violent home invasion

A Robina man and woman were rushed to hospital on Saturday after a terrifying home invasion on Manhattan Ave. The pair were in their home about 1.30am when two men entered and a fight began between the men and the occupants. The man, 25, was treated for knife wounds to his head while the woman, 27, was treated for cuts to her face. Two men fled the scene on foot.

Man, 40, dies in skateboard crash

A Pimpama man has died from serious head injuries he received in a skateboard crash last month. The 40-year-old passed away after fighting to recover from his injuries for more than a month. The man was hospitalis­ed after he hit his head when he fell off his skateboard in Aspect St about 10pm on September 22.

Coast ‘critical’ to Palaszczuk election

The Gold Coast will play a critical role in the State election campaign as Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk yesterday announced a late November poll date. The Premier visited Government House and called a snap election for November 25. Analysts predict the new Gold Coast electorate of Bonney is among a handful of marginal seats which will determine if Labor can maintain majority government.

A female Miami Dolphins fan used the mens toilet on Monday — holding up her beer while flanked by two male co-relievers. Clad in a pink top and light-blue shorts that she dropped to her knees, the woman was captured on video as she held the wall for balance — and took one giant leak for womankind. The footage from Hard Rock Stadium during the game against the Jets was posted on Instagram and made quite a splash — receiving more than 65,000 views.
