New tickets for festival

AN extra 2500 tickets will go on sale for the sold-out Byron Bay Falls Festival after organisers received permission to increase the event’s capacity.

The news comes as festival organisers added Wafia, Waax, West Thebarton, Manu Crooks, Alice Ivy and Party Dozen to the line-up for this year's event at North Byron Parklands from December 31 to January 2.

The extra tickets will go on sale via fallsfesti­val.com on Thursday at 8am (Qld time).

The initial 16,000 tickets released for this year’s fifth annual Byron Bay leg of the festival, an 18+ event, sold-out within hours of going on sale.

This year’s Falls Festival Byron Bay features previously announced acts including Flume, Fleet Foxes, Run The Jewels, The Kooks, Glass Animals, Angus and Julia Stone, Jungle, Dune Rats, Peking Duk, Liam Gallagher, The Smith Street Band, Daryl Braithwait­e and The Jungle Giants.
