Surfers visitor centre gets new look

THE long-awaited upgrades to the Surfers Paradise Visitor Centre will begin tomorrow to expand the area ahead of the Commonwealth Games.

The upgrades are part of a $2.44 million plan to revitalise the centre and build three smaller mobile visitor “pods” ahead of next year’s Commonwealth Games.

The Cavill Mall centre will spend the next month being refurbished to include a new fit out and more digital technology.

The works are expected to be completed by December 10.
