Deadline looming

THE Labor Party has just a week left to endorse candidates for six seats on the Gold Coast before nominations close at midday on November 7.

The LNP have had candidates endorsed in all eleven electorates for months, with some paying for advertising space well before Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk called the election on Sunday.

One Nation will also have some work to do with just four candidates nominated across the Gold Coast.

The short election period means the nominations will close just two and a half hours before the order of the ballot paper is drawn. It is also less than a fortnight before pre-polling begins with the first booths opening on November 13.
