YOUR SAY ON OUR M1 WOES

-

If you need to travel on the M1 then the safest and only guarantee you will get to your destination is that you take a train. Not one day goes past that the M1 is not in gridlock because of the traffic or an accident. Maybe if our politicians had to travel it every day it would be fixed immediately.

We need to do a similar thing to LA. Five lanes all the way, the inside lane a toll lane, you have to pay to use it!

Work in Brisbane with lifestyle of the Gold Coast, that right there is the problem. Stop all the commuting. Either get more jobs on the Coast or curb this population growth of people living here with no work. Commuting for twothree hours a day for work is insane. That’s no lifestyle at all.

So over the government thinking the Gold Coast stops at Reedy Creek. There is more Gold Coast to the south. We only have two lanes each way and it’s a struggle to get on let alone do more than 10km in busy times — and that includes weekend days.

Queensland will be $80 billion in debt by 2020 under Labor so obviously no money left. I travel the M1 everyday and would be happy to pay $20 toll each week to use a better and improved M1 if it flowed, but the idiots who keep crashing even make a toll road non-viable. Take this morning, an idiot jack knifes a car and trailer and yesterday another blind freddie gets his truck stuck in the Tugun tunnel.

Can you imagine the people competing in the Games; half of them will be stuck in traffic and miss their events.

Great to see the cross river going well, could have spent money on the M1 years ago.
